In the morning, we leave Antalya and travel west to the ruins of Kayakoy, once known as Karmilassos. After a gentle walk through this surreal landscape, we descend via a forested trail offering sweeping views of the Mediterranean to the blue lagoon of Oludeniz. One of Turkey’s most iconic beaches, Oludeniz is famous for its still, turquoise waters and white sands. After some free time at the beach, we head to our hotel in nearby Fethiye.

Today we begin our first real section of the Lycian Way. A short transfer brings us to Ovacik, nestled at the foot of Mount Babadag. From here, we start walking along a spectacular mountain trail with continuous views of Oludeniz and the surrounding coastline. As we ascend, the landscape opens up to forested hills and distant mountain ridges. We pass through the peaceful villages of Kozagac and Kirme, known for their traditional rural life, before descending into Faralya, perched on the cliffs above Butterfly Valley. We stay the night in a welcoming pension surrounded by pine trees.

The path weaves in and out of forested terrain, offering regular glimpses of hidden coves and remote beaches. In the early afternoon, we descend to Yuva Beach for a swim and lunch break.
