Upon arrival at Dalaman Airport, a representative from Nature and Sea Travel will greet you and transfer you to the quiet coastal village of Icmeler, the official starting point of the Carian Trail. Nestled at the base of the Bozburun Peninsula and surrounded by pine-covered hills, Icmeler offers a tranquil setting to relax and prepare for the days ahead.

After breakfast, a short drive brings us to the ancient site of Amos. Perched on a coastal promontory, Amos offers stunning views and well-preserved ruins, including a theater and an altar dedicated to Dionysus. Our hike takes us up aromatic paths surrounded by lush greenery, down into the bay of Turunc for a rest and optional swim, and finally back through pine forest trails overlooking Marmaris Bay to Icmeler.

Today’s hike begins from the mountain village of Bayir, home to ancient plane trees and the sanctuary of Asclepios. We follow a Roman path through Kayaliozu with panoramic sea views, passing a Byzantine church en route. Our trek ends at the long sandy beach of Kumlubuk, once the ancient harbor of Amos. After time to relax or swim, we return to Icmeler.

Leaving Icmeler, we head north to Turnali, where our hike begins. The trail ascends to 900 meters, offering magnificent views over the Gökova Gulf. Following old caravan paths, we descend through pine forests and coastline to Akyaka, a town known for its elegant wooden architecture and relaxed coastal charm.

We start from Akyaka’s town center, hiking into olive groves and across forested hills. The trail winds along Sakar Hill, offering unforgettable views of Gökova Bay. After passing small caves and rocky outcrops, we reach Turnali Beach, where there’s time for a swim before returning to Akyaka.

A short transfer takes us to the village of Sarnic, set in a fertile valley. Our trail climbs through wheat fields and olive groves, eventually revealing views across to the Datca Peninsula and even the Greek island of Kos. We descend along an old caravan route and finish the hike at the stunning turquoise bay of Akbuk, perfect for swimming and a tea break.

Our final hike begins at Ekincik Bay. We walk a scenic coastal route through pine forests until we reach the ancient city of Kaunos, with its famous rock-cut tombs and Roman ruins. After a guided visit, we take a boat across the Dalyan River to Iztuzu Beach, a protected nesting site for loggerhead turtles. Our final night is spent in the charming town of Dalyan.
