Your first walk takes you to the hauntingly beautiful ruins of Kayaköy, once a thriving Greek village and now a poignant reminder of the population exchanges of the early 20th century. The quiet streets, roofless stone houses, and historic churches create a surreal, timeless atmosphere. After exploring the village, follow a forest path with panoramic views over the turquoise waters below. The trail descends towards the famous Ölüdeniz lagoon, a natural wonder with a blue flag beach often listed among the most beautiful in the world. Spend the afternoon relaxing by the water before returning to Ovacık. You may walk back along the main road or take a local dolmuş minibus, which runs frequently until early evening.

Today you begin at the official starting point of the Lycian Way. The route skirts the southern slopes of Mount Babadağ, offering sweeping views over the deep blue bay of Ölüdeniz. Passing through sheep pastures and the small rural villages of Kozagac and Kirme, you follow both gravel tracks and narrow footpaths, surrounded by Mediterranean scrub and olive groves. Your day ends in the picturesque cliffside village of Faralya, where you will enjoy dinner at a family-run pension.

From Faralya, follow a narrow path climbing gently to a spectacular viewpoint over Butterfly Valley, a steep gorge opening to the sea. The trail then continues through forest and coastal landscapes, eventually descending to the pebbled Aktas Beach where you can pause for lunch or a swim. In the afternoon, walk to the laid-back village of Kabak before returning by vehicle to Faralya for a second night.
